Customer & Device Tags
Customer and device tags help organise and categorise connections within the IoT.live Portal.
Tags can be used to:
- Group devices
- Associate devices with customers
- Improve filtering and reporting
- Simplify operational management
- Support bulk administration workflows

Customer Tags
Customer tags associate a device or connection with a specific customer or organisation.
Each device can only be associated with a single customer tag at a time.
Import customer tags
Customer associations can be imported in bulk using CSV files.
To import customer tags:
- Open Account Management
- Select Import Device / Customer
- Choose Add Customer Tags
- Upload your CSV file
- Select Upload

Customer tag CSV format
The CSV file must include:
- A connection identifier
- A customer name
Optional:
- Association timestamp

Supported device identifiers
Depending on the connectivity type, supported identifiers include:
Identifier | Description |
|---|---|
ICCID | SIM card identifier |
IMSI | Subscriber identity |
MSISDN | Phone number |
MDN / MEID / ESN | Legacy CDMA identifiers |
Do not mix identifier types within the same CSV file.
Remove customer tags
To remove customer associations:
- Open the import dialog
- Select Delete Customer Tags
- Upload a CSV containing the device identifiers to remove

Device Tags
Device tags allow you to assign custom labels to devices and connections.
Unlike customer tags, multiple device tags can be assigned to a single device.
Examples include:
- Region
- Deployment type
- Hardware model
- Operational status
- Internal business grouping

Add device tags
Device tags can be:
- Added individually
- Assigned in bulk
- Imported via CSV
- Updated from Inventory Management
Use tags for filtering
Once assigned, tags can be used throughout the portal to:
- Filter device lists
- Build searches
- Organise operational views
- Export targeted datasets
