Manage Tags & Attributes
Tags and attributes help organise, categorise, and manage devices across large-scale deployments.
Using tags and attributes, you can:
- Group devices operationally
- Improve filtering and reporting
- Simplify bulk management
- Store provider-specific metadata
- Organise customer deployments

View device tags
Tags assigned to a connection can be viewed directly from:
- Inventory tables
- Device details pages
- Search results
- Operational views

Add tags to a device
To assign tags to an individual connection:
- Open the device record
- Select Manage Tags
- Add a new or existing tag
- Save the changes

Examples of common tags include:
- Region
- Customer
- Deployment type
- Device model
- Operational status
Assign tags to multiple devices
Tags can also be applied in bulk across multiple connections.
To assign tags in bulk:
- Select multiple devices
- Open the bulk actions menu
- Select Manage Tags
- Choose the required tags
- Confirm the update

Consistent tagging conventions make filtering and reporting significantly easier at scale.
Create new tags
New tags can be created during the assignment process.
Depending on permissions, administrators may be able to:
- Create operational tags
- Create customer-specific tags
- Reuse existing tags
- Remove obsolete tags

Remove tags
To remove tags from a device:
- Open the device or bulk actions menu
- Select the assigned tag
- Remove the tag
- Save the changes

Provider Attributes
Some connectivity providers support additional provider-specific attributes and metadata.
These attributes may include:
- Internal provider identifiers
- Custom operational metadata
- Provisioning information
- Network-specific configuration values

Add provider attributes
Provider-specific attributes can typically be managed from the detailed device view.
To add or update attributes:
- Open the device details page
- Navigate to the attributes section
- Add or update the required values
- Save the changes

Available attributes depend on the connectivity provider and subscription type.
Use tags and attributes in searches
Tags and attributes can be used throughout the platform to:
- Filter devices
- Build saved searches
- Export targeted datasets
