Assign Rate Plans
Rate plans control the connectivity allowance, billing structure, and service configuration assigned to a connection.
The IoT.live Portal allows administrators to assign and update rate plans for individual devices or across large groups of connections.

Changing a rate plan may impact billing, usage allowances, and live device behaviour.
Assign a rate plan to a single connection
To update the rate plan for an individual device:
- Open Inventory Management
- Locate the required connection
- Select the device record
- Choose Assign Rate Plan
- Select the required rate plan
- Confirm the change

Assign a rate plan from the device details page
Rate plans can also be updated directly from the detailed device view.
The device details page provides:
- Current rate plan information
- Available rate plans
- Usage visibility
- Operational history

Bulk rate plan assignment
The platform supports assigning rate plans to multiple connections simultaneously.
To perform a bulk update:
- Select multiple devices in the inventory table
- Open the bulk actions menu
- Select Assign Rate Plan
- Choose the target rate plan
- Confirm the operation

Use filters and saved searches before bulk updates to target the correct device groups.
Large-scale rate plan updates
For large deployments, rate plan changes can also be performed using:
- Batch Operations
- CSV imports
- API integrations
- Automated workflows

Review current rate plans
Inventory views can display:
- Assigned rate plans
- Provider information
- Usage metrics
- Operational status
This helps identify:
- Incorrect assignments
- High-usage devices
- Optimisation opportunities
- Inactive subscriptions

Provider-specific behaviour
Available rate plans and operational behaviour depend on the underlying connectivity provider.
Some providers may support:
- Immediate plan changes
- Scheduled plan updates
- Usage-based restrictions
- Shared data plans
Synchronisation timing and available plan options may vary between providers.
Monitor update status
After submitting a rate plan change:
- The request is sent to the provider platform
- Synchronisation may take time
- Device behaviour may not update immediately
