Manage Users
Organisation administrators can create, manage, and remove users within the IoT.live Portal.
User Management controls access to:
- Portal applications
- Account administration
- Connectivity management features
- API access
- Security settings

Open User Management
To manage users:
- Open Account Management
- Select User Management

Add a new user
To create a new user:
- Select Add User
- Enter the user’s details
- Assign the required access level and permissions
- Configure authentication settings if required
- Select Save

After the user is created:
- The user receives an activation or verification email
- The user can complete account setup and sign in
- Access becomes available based on assigned permissions
You can choose whether users create their own password or receive a predefined temporary password.
User access types
Users can be assigned different access levels depending on operational requirements.
Access Type | Description |
|---|---|
UI Access | Access to the web portal |
API Access | Programmatic API access only |
UI + API Access | Combined portal and API access |
Manage user permissions
Administrators can update:
- User roles
- Application access
- Security settings
- MFA configuration
- Contact information
To edit a user:
- Select the user from the list
- Choose Edit User
- Update the required settings
- Select Save

Reset a user password
Administrators can trigger password reset emails for users directly from User Management.
This can help when:
- A user forgets their password
- A user cannot access MFA
- Access recovery is required

Remove a user
To permanently remove a user account:
- Select the user
- Choose Delete User
- Confirm the action
Deleting a user permanently removes their access to the platform.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Depending on organisation policy:
- MFA may be optional
- MFA may be enforced for all users
Users can configure authenticator apps or email-based verification depending on account settings.
If MFA is enforced at organisation level, individual users cannot disable it.
